Fighting for equality, the British Invasion, war in Vietnam, the Hippie Movement, the beginnings of Rock and Roll, drugs, Woodstock, the first man on the moon, the assassination of JFK, and fighting to end racism are just few of the major events/movements in pop culture that occured in the sixties. This counterculture movement dominated the 60s and and early seventies and left a mark on are country that would make us forever different. Here’s a look into what life looked like only sixty years ago:

Hundreds of thousands of students all around the country protested to bring peace and end the war. They were successful.

Women all of the country protested for equal rights and in this particular protest, Roe vs Wade to make abortion legal.

✨The most famous actors/actresses of this time included: Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Audrey Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine, Bette Davis, Jane Fonda, and Julie Andrews.

✨The Top 20 Billboard Hot 100s Hit List was adorned with songs by: Chubby Checker, The Beatles, Bobby Lewis, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, The Four Seasons, and Percy Faith And His Orchestra.

✨The most popular cars of the 1960s were: the 1964 Ford Mustang, the 1966 Chevy Camero, and the 1968 Plymoth Road Runner.

✨The most legendary fashion supermodels of the sixties were: Jean Shrimpton, Veruschka, Twiggy, and Patti Boyd. And the worlds first African American cover girl, Donyale Luna.

✨Pop Art emerged and gained much popularity in tie time period. One of the most, if not the most, prominent artist in this style of Art is Andy Warhol. An image of his infamous soup and is listed above.
